Commissioner McCarthy and the Mayor are both bad representatives of the City of Lapeer.

What is wrong with the mayor? Rigid authority, thinking it was a good idea to start the meeting criticizing and correcting the previous meeting. Telling the experienced board members he is " providing a clear explanation of the rules...this is not directed at any one individual ". He seems to lack discretion by my humble observation.

Commissioner Brady is correct. I have never seen a city council or a commission waste time arguing Roberts Rules of Order, which are standard, accepted and critically important in local government. The Rules exist to support communication and dialogue, not to shut it down, as the mayor seems to want. Ignoring the Rules or bastardizing them leads to corruption. The mayor's ignorance and intentions are very concerning, so are McCarthy's. She doesn't seem to know where she is or what she's doing. A "small deliberating body" is like a three-member nonprofit board of directors, NOT an elected governing body. This council is not considered a small deliberating body, under any definition.

Womack, Brady and Atwood might as well stay home. The other 3 commissioners and the Mayor have the only say as the majority. And stop the ridiculous prayers.
